A Company of Sales Engineers
PORTFOLIO OF OUR WORK

The following are some examples of applications and challenges that we have been instrumental in helping our customers with.

CASE STUDY ONE

A European company had plans to expand their operation into the United States. They picked Florida for there location & sent a team to get started. The project engineer contacted one of our sales engineers about a particular product. This lead to a meeting to further understand there needs and to review the details ( e.g., power, thru put, material characteristics, etc. ) During the course of the conversation it was understood that the only thing the engineer had was a flow diagram. There were no specifications for the equipment or any detailed layout diagrams for placement and interface.

Our sales engineer immediately got busy with our principles and laid out the complete process. In some cases suggestions were made for integrating functions to reduce capital expenditure and in other functions suggestions were made for duplexing to assure non-interruption of process flow. On the equipment required were we did not represent a manufacturer enough information and specifications were supplied for the project engineer to quickly get competitive quotations and make an intelligent purchase decision.

The end result was that due to the sales engineers efforts the project engineer was freed up to concentrate on site development while process machinery was being manufactured. The project stayed on schedule and the plant was up and producing well within the owners allotted time frame.

CASE STUDY TWO

A formed fiberglass-molding manufacturer requested information on industrial ventilating fans. After some questioning our sales engineer had a clear picture of the application and the objectives of the manufacturer. Although the building had large access doors on one side and it had some ventilation, on some days when the air was hot and humid there was not sufficient ventilation of the fumes generated by the process. Neighbors were complaining of the odors.

The manufacture was looking at spot ventilation, ducting and filtering for individual workstations. After careful evaluation our sales engineer suggested hooded roof ventilator fans, increasing the thru put of the intake wall fans and a single filter plenum for the outlet roof fans.
An outside engineer reviewed the plan. When every body was in agreement the manufacturer ordered the fans and we located a contractor for the installation and a fabricator to make and install the filter plenum.

Today the complaints have stopped and the manufacture has sufficient air changes within his facility to keep everybody happy. He saved money over the original idea and the whole project was completed in 10 weeks.

CASE STUDY THREE

A plastics molder & recycler came to us asking about magnets to remove metal from the regrind. They were having a problem with metal getting into the extruders and causing major maintenance problems. When asked some questions it was discovered that some of the plastic containers being sent through the grinder had hinged lids. The hinge pin was not visible to the naked in many cases and in others it was just being ignored. It was also discovered that in most cases the hinge pin was carbon steel but on some units the pin was aluminum or stainless steel. We suggested that all of the units going to the grinder be sent through a metal detector.

The grinder feed opening was at about 8 feet above the floor and the existing procedure was to have a person on a platform feed the grinder from units stacked on a pallet which was raised by a fork truck.
By mounting the metal detector on a sloped and cleated conveyor it not only assured that the metal detector couldn't be bypassed but it put the low end of the conveyor at waist level. This allowed the operator to work at floor level and freed up the fork truck for other duties.
